Sketching forces you to name inputs and outputs without drowning in syntax. It also reveals hidden human steps, like someone renames files manually "because it only takes a minute." Those minutes are where mentors focus their first questions.
Once the sketch survives a five-minute critique, translating it into functions feels mechanical in the best way. Keep the photo in version control; future you will appreciate the paper trail more than another slide deck.
